There are many different printers available today. All have their own good features, but some have drawbacks that are not obvious at the time of purchase and might prove to be annoying or costly to you.

There are several points to consider

Purchase price
What’s your budget? But will you get what you want or need? Are you paying for features you wont use? Is the printer cheap to buy, but expensive to run?

Speed
How many pages per minute? Important for printing large jobs.
How long before the first page is printed? Important for printing invoices if customers wait.

Print Quality
Will it produce the the type of document you need or are you paying for features you don’t need? Many printers can print at 1,200 dpi but this is pointless for letters where 600 dpi is sufficient.

Cartridge
How much does a replacement cartridge cost? How many pages can it print? Will it run out in the middle of a large print job or will it last so long that it fails before it is empty but is out of the warranty period?  Click here for more information about how long a cartridge will last

Maintenance
Are parts readily available and at a reasonable cost?
