Brother TN-2250 Toner Reset Procedure

If the printer fails to reset the counter and the replace toner message continues - you will be unable to print. Use one of the following procedures to manually reset the counter. Brother® has released firmware updates to fix this intermittent problem - it is available at www.brother.com.au - follow the “Service & Support” link to locate the relevant download for your printer.

Brother HL-2130, 2132, 2135, 2240D, 2242D, 2250DN & 2270DW

  1. Turn off the printer and open front cover
  2. Press and hold the GO button and turn power on
  3. When all 3 lights are lit release and press GO twice
  4. With all lights now on, press GO 5 times
  5. Ready light goes red
  6. Close the front door. The toner counter is reset.

Brother DCP-7055, 7060D, 7065DN / FAX 2840, 2950 / MFC-7240, 7360N, 7362, 7460DN & 7860DW

  1. Open the front panel of your Brother MFC where you can access the toner cartridge.
  2. Press the "Clear/Back" button. A display message will then show:  “REPLACE DRUM?  1. Yes 2. No”.
  3. Do not type 1 or 2, - Instead type *00 - That's  [Star Zero Zero].  “accepted” should be on the display.
  4. Close the front door. The toner counter is reset.
